
On December 13th, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Loc commune solemnly held a ceremony to receive and bury the remains of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao.
Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao was born on January 29, 1955 (January 6, 1955 in the lunar calendar) into a family with a rich revolutionary tradition in Loc Thuong village, Lien Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province (now village 4, Hoa Loc commune, Thanh Hoa province). He graduated from high school in the 1969-1972 academic year and excelled in the university entrance exam just as the war against the US was entering its most intense phase and the general mobilization movement was underway throughout the North. Putting aside his studies and personal dreams, answering the sacred call of the Fatherland, young Nguyen Ngoc Thao enlisted in the army on December 31, 1972, at Regiment 14, Thanh Hoa province.
During the operation to open the corridor into the center of Dong Thap Muoi, with a courageous and unwavering fighting spirit, Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao bravely sacrificed his life on January 13, 1974. The martyr's remains were relocated to Loc Ninh Martyrs' Cemetery, Binh Phuoc province (now part of Dong Nai province).

Leaders of Hoa Loc commune, along with a large number of local people and relatives of fallen soldiers, offered incense before the memorial of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao.
In accordance with the Party and State's policies on relocating and gathering the remains of martyrs, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Loc commune, in coordination with the relatives and family of the martyr, organized the return of the remains of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao to his hometown, reuniting him with his motherland, so that his family could conveniently offer incense and pay their respects.

Relatives and family members welcome the remains of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao back to his hometown.
At the ceremony, delegates and the people respectfully offered incense and flowers before the spirit of the martyr, expressing their boundless sorrow, gratitude, and profound appreciation for the great sacrifice of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao, an outstanding son of the homeland who selflessly fought and bravely sacrificed himself for the cause of national liberation and the protection of the Fatherland.

The ceremony for receiving and burying the remains of Martyr Nguyen Ngoc Thao was conducted solemnly and respectfully.
In accordance with the family's wishes, after the reception and memorial service, the funeral organizing committee and the family members of the fallen soldier will arrange for the burial of the remains of Nguyen Ngoc Thao in accordance with local rituals, regulations, and customs at the cemetery in his hometown.
