With first prize in Microsoft Office Excel 2019, student Tran Thanh An, class 11 Ly 1, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, became one of six national champions in the 2024 World Office Computing Championship, selected to participate in the World Finals.
Student Nguyen Le Quoc Anh, from class 10 Physics 2, also excelled, winning second prize overall; Vu Nguyen Son, a former student of the school's Russian specialization, won third prize. These are impressive achievements of the school in the education and development of students' computer skills.
Sharing her feelings upon receiving the award, student Tran Thanh An said that her passion for Informatics helped her balance her time between studying her specialized subject and honing her MOS skills to strive for a good result in the competition. According to teacher Tran Thuy Duong, Principal of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, the competition is a valuable intellectual playground, providing students with the opportunity to experience digital technology and develop computer and literary skills as an important foundation for learning and working in today's digital age.
Recognizing the practical value of the competition, the teachers of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students actively promoted it to all students, accompanying, encouraging, and supporting them in developing digital skills to confidently participate in the competition.
Therefore, Tran Thanh An, despite being a student specializing in Physics, was determined to participate in the World Office Informatics Championship and won first place overall at the national level. Thanh An, along with five other champions, will represent Vietnam in the World Office Informatics Championship at the international competition in the United States this coming July.
