The Vietnamese team won 1 Gold medal, 1 Bronze medal and all contestants were in the world top 10 at the World Office Informatics Championship.
With this result, the Vietnamese team has excellently won the position of top 5 strongest teams in the competition. The award ceremony took place last night, in the US.
This is the information just announced by IIG Vietnam - the organizer of the contest in Vietnam this morning, July 31.
The contestant who won the Gold Medal was Do Hai Long - a student at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, in the MOS Word 365 Apps category.
Student Luong Son Tung, Foreign Trade University won a Bronze medal in the MOS Excel 365 Apps category.
Do Hai Long first participated in the World Office Championship when he was in 11th grade and won third place in the national round in MOS Word 2016. Since then, the male student has spent 4 years studying diligently and participated in the competition 3 times.
Sharing after the award ceremony, Long said: “I was very surprised and very emotional when I heard my name won the Gold medal. This is an achievement I have achieved after my tireless efforts since the first time I participated in the competition and is also a motivation for me to try harder and strive in the future.”

Luong Son Tung has also participated in the competition for two consecutive years. After winning second place at the national level in the first year and missing the opportunity to participate in the world finals, Tung has determined to practice to achieve better results this year.
“I am very proud that my name and Vietnam's name are heard at the world's largest IT arena,” said Luong Son Tung.
Besides Do Hai Long and Luong Son Tung, the remaining contestants of the Vietnamese delegation also achieved impressive results. Vuong Thu Huong, Vietnam Maritime University, was in the world's top 5 for MOS Word 2019; Nguyen Minh Duc, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, was in the world's top 7 for MOS PowerPoint 2019; Nghiem Thi My Linh, Vietnam Maritime University, was in the world's top 9 for MOS Excel 2019; Nguyen Thai Son, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Ninh Binh) was in the world's top 10 for MOS PowerPoint 365 Apps.
Compared to other competitions, the Office IT Championship has a very limited number of medals. The competition includes 6 categories: Word 365 Apps, Excel 365 Apps, PowerPoint 365 Apps, Word 2019, Excel 2019, PowerPoint 2019. Each category has only one set of medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze).

Therefore, the above achievement of the Vietnamese team is extremely proud. The impressive achievement of the Vietnamese team at the world's largest IT playground this year is a worthy result for the serious learning and training process of the contestants and the close companionship of the school, teachers and the organizing committee.
Previously, to represent Vietnam in the world finals, the students had to surpass nearly 2,000 candidates selected from 230 teams from universities, colleges, secondary schools, and high schools nationwide.
Ms. Doan Nguyen Van Khanh, Executive Director of IIG Vietnam Education Organization - co-organizer of the national competition, commented that this year's MOS Vietnam team is very strong. To represent Vietnam in the world finals, the students have excelled over nearly 2,000 young IT talents selected from 230 teams from universities, colleges, secondary schools, and high schools nationwide. Among them, many students have participated in the competition many times. The knowledge and experience accumulated in the domestic competition, along with the review support from the organizing committee before the world finals, helped the students enter the finals with confidence, maximizing their abilities when competing with peers from hundreds of countries around the world.
The achievements of the Vietnamese team in 2025 have extended the impressive results in 16 years of participating in the MOS World Championship finals, continuing to affirm the talent and intelligence of the young generation of Vietnam. This is proof that the young generation of Vietnam is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with the technological powerhouses of the five continents, and also shows that they have been equipped with essential skills to confidently conquer the international learning and working environment in the future, contributing to the further development of Vietnam's education and country.
According to the organizing committee's statistics, Vietnam won 23 world medals, including 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 14 bronze medals and many high rankings in the world's top 10.
