Veterans Association actively participates in maintaining security, order and traffic safety

In recent times, the Veterans Associations at all levels in the province have always demonstrated a pioneering and exemplary role in establishing models of Veterans Associations to participate in maintaining security and order (SOC) and traffic safety (TS) at the grassroots level. Thereby, actively contributing to the work of preventing and combating crimes, strengthening national security and defense, and maintaining traffic safety and order in the area.

In Ngoc Son ward, Kim Bang town, there is a national highway running through, with a large volume of people and vehicles. In particular, because the secondary school is located right next to the road, during rush hour when students go to and from school, the traffic situation in this area is quite complicated, and traffic accidents are likely to occur. To ensure traffic safety at the school gate, in 2022, the Ward Veterans Association consulted with the local Party Committee and authorities to build a model of "Self-managed Veterans Group to ensure traffic safety". As the host, the Ward Veterans Association coordinated with school leaders to implement the model; build diverse and appropriate forms of propaganda to integrate into conferences, village meetings, activities of branches, youth unions, and at schools so that people and students clearly understand the importance of ensuring traffic safety. Since its inception, members of the self-management team have guided and ensured traffic safety at the school gate for more than 10,000 students; coordinated with other departments to organize traditional talks and traffic safety propaganda for students in the area.

Dai Cuong Ward (Kim Bang) was previously a complicated area in terms of security and order, especially the situation of illegal drug trafficking, storage, and organization of drug use. With the role and responsibility of the association, in 2017, the Ward Veterans Association advised the local Party Committee and government to build a model of "Self-managed Veterans Group for Security and Order" in Tung Quan Residential Group. Up to now, the model has been replicated by the Ward Veterans Association to 100% of residential groups, attracting nearly 100 members to participate. The group has coordinated with the ward police force to promptly detect and handle 8 drug-related crimes, 3 property theft cases, and 2 cases of public disorder. The model has contributed to ensuring security and order right in the area, raising awareness and sense of responsibility of people in proactively and voluntarily participating in the movement "All people protect national security", actively preventing and fighting against crimes and social evils.

Veterans Association actively participates in maintaining traffic safety and order

"Self-managed War Veterans' Team to Ensure Traffic Safety" of Ngoc Son Ward (Kim Bang) supports ensuring traffic safety for students at the school gate area.

In order to contribute to ensuring security and order and traffic safety in the area, every year, the provincial Veterans Association at all levels has coordinated with the police force to organize propaganda, disseminate andeducate the law on crime prevention and control, attracting tens of thousands of cadres, members and people to participate; effectively build and maintain nearly 1,000 self-managed security and order teams in villages and residential groups, maintain and develop more than 100 self-managed traffic safety teams with more than 3,000 members participating. Over the past 5 years, the self-managed security and order teams have detected and coordinated to arrest 167 subjects illegally storing and using drugs; arrested and participated in dispersing 54 gambling and football betting cases; coordinated to arrest hundreds of subjects stealing property and robbing in the area and handing them over to the police for handling according to regulations. Along with that, participating in maintaining security and order in traffic accidents and collisions, causing disorder in residential areas; Participated in resolving many cases related to land clearance, resolving policies and internal conflicts among the people. In addition, to push back social evils in the community, members of the group actively propagated to CBHV to detect and denounce crimes, encouraged members to join the militia and self-defense force, patrol the people; participated in reforming and educating criminals to reintegrate into the community... The positive activities of the self-managed CCB groups on security and order, ensuring traffic safety have been recognized and highly appreciated by local Party committees, authorities and people.

With the motto: Each war veteran is a shock soldier on the front line of maintaining security and order, traffic safety, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province has closely coordinated with departments, branches, and organizations in propagating and mobilizing war veterans, veterans, and people of all walks of life to carry out the work of preventing and combating crimes and social evils, striving to have no children of war veterans involved in social evils; launching a commitment for 100% of war veterans and children of war veterans not to trade, transport, store, or illegally use drugs, not to commit to social evils, not to violate traffic safety, and to be exemplary in practicing a civilized lifestyle and a cultured family.

In fact, the war veteran groups participating in maintaining security and order and traffic safety have made positive contributions to ensuring security and order and traffic safety at the grassroots level; many groups and individuals of the war veteran associations at all levels have been commended for implementing the movement "All people protect national security" and ensuring traffic safety in the area.
