The Logos Hope, a massive cargo ship, has been transformed into a special space for books and reading. After a journey that spanned Libya, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, the Logos Hope docked in the Gulf.

First launched in 1970, passing through more than 150 countries, the ship Logos Hope has been enriching the reading culture for 49 million people around the world . Stopping in the bay city of Abu Dhabi this time, Logos Hope brought 5 thousand cheap books, with the message that has remained the same for the past half century, that reading is also a very important way to share.

More than 2,500 square meters of space on the ship is now devoted to books. The books have crossed the ocean, many of which are being introduced to readers for the first time.

Dhrishya - Student, United Arab Emirates: "There are books that are so rare, I didn't even know they existed. I thought I could only find them on a floating bookstore that travels the world like this."

From the initial criteria of bringing books to remote areas, now, when modern technology has gradually reduced the reading culture, Logos Hope also carries a new mission of bringing back the love of learning. With 50 years of continuous operation, Logos Hope is also considered the destination of many precious books, with books that are half a century old.

For some, the Logos Hope ship is a chance to return to memories. Having experienced the ship as a child, now seeing the old space again, but in a completely different mindset.

Ms. Fathima Lijiya - Indian living in the United Arab Emirates: "This is the second time I have visited the ship, after a long time. This time I met the ship in a completely new land and with my second daughter. For me, the ship brings back beautiful memories. Especially in the digital age, a book space like this easily evokes old memories."

Mr. Edward David - Manager of Logos Hope: "The books here are all guaranteed to be affordable, so that almost everyone can buy them. And at the same time, on this ship we have about 300 members, from 70 different nationalities. Therefore, in each place the ship goes, we want to create cultural and knowledge exchanges between lands".
