The 60th anniversary of Plei Me Victory Conference will be held at the Ministry of National Defense level.

The Ministry of National Defense-level scientific conference on the 60th anniversary of the Plei Me Victory with 400 delegates will take place on November 18 in Gia Lai.

On the afternoon of November 10, the Ministry of National Defense , the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History, and Gia Lai province held a press conference to inform about the scientific conference on the 60th anniversary of the Plei Me Victory.

The Plei Me victory was an important milestone.

At the press conference, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Propaganda and Training, General Department of Politics - informed about the scientific conference on the 60th anniversary of the Plei Me Victory with the scale of the Ministry of National Defense. The conference has the theme "The Plei Me Victory - The stature, significance and historical lessons".

The 60th anniversary of the Plei Me Victory is an important milestone in the resistance war against the US to save the country; an opportunity to look back on the past, promote the heroic tradition of the nation and continue to build a peaceful and developed Vietnam.

The conference once again affirmed the correct strategic policy of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission, and President Ho Chi Minh, directing our army and people to overcome all difficulties and challenges, ready to defeat the local war of the US imperialists, determined to fight and defeat the US to bring the cause of national reunification to success.

Thereby, drawing valuable historical lessons and experiences on leadership, strategic direction, the art of organizing and implementing campaigns; the process of close coordination and cooperation between forces in campaign operations, applying the building of a regular, elite, modern revolutionary army...

At the same time, educate cadres, party members, soldiers and people to promote the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance and self-improvement...

4 workshop contents

Colonel Le Thanh Bai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History - shared that this workshop focuses on four main contents.

1. Analyze the historical context, international and domestic situation, plots and tricks of the US and the Saigon government; the capabilities and response measures of the US and the Saigon government; US and world public opinion against the attacks of our army and people through each development stage of the Plei Me Campaign.

2. Clarifying the Party Central Committee's guidelines, viewpoints, and policies in leading and directing the resistance war against the US to save the country; the correct and timely decisions of the Central Military Commission, the General Command, and the Central Highlands Front Command in launching the Plei Me campaign, affirming the determination to defeat the invading US imperialists.

3. The process of leading, directing, organizing and implementing the campaign; the coordination between the main force and the armed forces and people in the areas, the unique features of military art...

4. Affirming the important role, strategic significance and fundamental reasons for the victory of the Plei Me campaign; lessons learned on the art of leadership and command of the campaign; large-scale concentrated operations; creative application to practice in building the all-people national defense and people's war posture in the new era of development of the Vietnamese nation.
