National Scientific Conference "Trends in training and research in the fields of Social Sciences in the current context"

On the morning of November 17, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism (HUCT) organized a National Scientific Conference with the theme: "Trends in training and research in the fields of Social Sciences in the current context".

The workshop attracted the participation of experts, researchers, and lecturers from institutes and universities in and outside the province.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Ha, Principal of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered the opening speech at the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Ha, Principal of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed: “Social sciences (KHXH) play a particularly important role in providing a foundation for understanding people, culture, and social behavior, thereby helping to train learners with critical thinking, analytical ability, communication and adaptation skills - the core qualities of human resources in the new era. For Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism - a training institution in the fields of culture, arts, sports and tourism, research activities in the field of social sciences are increasingly urgent to affirm the prestige and quality of training. Research on culture, society, administration, arts, education , communication... not only shed light on practical issues but also provide arguments for policy making and community development”.

Appreciating the importance and practical significance of the workshop, demonstrating a timely vision, associated with the context of globalization, digital transformation and innovation in university education, in order to identify opportunities as well as challenges, and at the same time propose solutions for developing training and research in social sciences in the digital age, Dr. Trinh Van Suy, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Thanh Hoa, believes that the workshop will provide valuable resources for managers, lecturers and students researching social sciences, especially in building training and research programs suitable to the sustainable development requirements of Thanh Hoa province in general and Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism in particular.

The organizing committee received more than 100 reports, including 27 from institutes and universities and nearly 80 from staff and lecturers in the school. The articles covered many fields such as education, cultural studies, sociology, psychology, management, social work, communication, tourism, international relations... creating richness, diversity and appeal for the conference.

The presentations focused on current issues: Innovation in training programs and teaching methods; application of digital technology; interdisciplinary trends; innovation in university governance; development of high-quality human resources; creative industries; the role of social sciences in the context of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and globalization... These are all topics of significance to academia and management agencies.

Delegates focused on discussing four key groups of issues: Innovation in training towards modernity, integration, development of critical thinking capacity, research, communication and digital skills; Innovation in research: interdisciplinary approach, application of technology, building and analyzing big data, using AI in social science research; The role of social sciences in national development: cultural policy, social management, education, cultural identity, creative industry and sustainable development; Perfecting policies, mechanisms and conditions to ensure the quality of training and research in social sciences at higher education institutions.

The opinions at the workshop are expected to contribute to the formation of flexible training models, effective research methods, new approaches and practical solutions for the development of training institutions nationwide. At the same time, it opens up cooperation opportunities between universities, research institutes, localities and social organizations in promoting social sciences in Vietnam.
