Private enterprises proactively integrate internationally

In the context of increasingly deep international economic integration, the private enterprise sector in Thanh Hoa is emerging as an important force, contributing to increasing competitiveness and bringing local products deeper into the global value chain. With more than 97% of the total number of enterprises in the province, this sector is transforming strongly, from a small-scale production model to a standardized mindset, connecting to international markets and upgrading technology to meet the new requirements of global trade.

In industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province, many enterprises have made systematic investments to meet strict market standards. Thanh Hoa Medical Equipment and Supplies Joint Stock Company is one of the pioneers in the field of manufacturing and distributing medical equipment. In recent years, the enterprise has invested in machinery systems meeting ISO 13485 standards, enhanced input and output quality inspection and standardized production processes according to the requirements of foreign partners. The enterprise representative shared: "Medical products are a special field, just a small deviation cannot clear customs or pass technical assessment. If you want to integrate, you must do standards from the beginning. When the quality meets international standards, market access will be much easier." Thanks to drastic changes, the enterprise has expanded the export of some groups of medical supplies to the Southeast Asian market.

In the field of construction materials, Cu Nga Company Limited is a unit specializing in stone construction projects and is also making efforts to integrate by deeply participating in domestic and regional supply chains. The company focuses on paving stone and construction stone products that meet high technical standards, serving many infrastructure and civil projects. Since 2023, the company has invested in Italian technology cutting and grinding lines, creating more uniform products, aiming to export to the Thai market. Mr. Tran Ngoc Cu, director of the company, said: "To enter the international market, standards must be put first. Small businesses like us choose to go step by step, focusing on quality and stability to create trust with partners." In addition to upgrading technology and quality management, the company also proactively seeks cooperation opportunities with foreign partners, learning management experience, construction techniques and export standards. This not only helps businesses increase product value but also contributes to creating a brand for Thanh Hoa construction stone industry in the international market.

These changes show that Thanh Hoa private enterprises have been more proactive in grasping global trends. Not only stopping at improving product quality, many enterprises have also actively participated in international trade training courses, thoroughly understanding tariff regulations, technical standards certification systems and environmental safety of import markets. Many enterprises have established import-export departments, invested in digital transformation, built a logistics management system and a closed quality control process. The application of AI to forecast market demand and optimize production plans has also begun to receive attention, especially among young enterprises.

Thanh Hoa province has also implemented many solutions to support private enterprises in integration. Conferences connecting supply and demand, training programs on export, international standard certification; or trade promotion activities at home and abroad help enterprises proactively approach partners and grasp market trends. Logistics infrastructure, especially Nghi Son port area, continues to be invested, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to export directly instead of having to depend on port systems in neighboring provinces.

However, to integrate deeply and sustainably, private enterprises still have to face many barriers such as limited capital, lack of high-quality human resources, weak market forecasting capacity, and competition from FDI enterprises in the same field. Difficulties in accessing credit also prevent many enterprises from investing in synchronous production lines or expanding export scale as planned. This requires stronger support from financial and credit policies, programs to improve management capacity and technological innovation.

In the coming time, with the orientation of developing industry, services and logistics, along with the expansion of international cooperation relations of the province, Thanh Hoa private enterprises have many opportunities to make breakthroughs. If they continue to maintain a proactive spirit, upgrade technology, standardize management according to international standards and make the most of free trade agreements, private enterprises will not only expand their markets but also be able to participate more deeply in high value-added stages in the global supply chain.
