Workshop on improving the quality of school libraries in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City

On May 10, the Provincial Library organized a Workshop to improve the quality of school libraries in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, combining the summary of the Reading Culture Ambassador contest and the Online Book Introduction contest.

At the workshop, delegates listened to reports and discussed issues to improve the effectiveness of school libraries such as: Solutions to attract students to read; socializing school libraries; building diverse library models; promoting propaganda to encourage students to read... thereby making the reading movement a cultural beauty in schools, contributing to improving the qualityof education and training.

At the same time, the Provincial Library summarized the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and the Online Book Introduction Contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Accordingly, responding to and launching the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, the Provincial Library participated in organizing and implementing it from 2019-2022 and received 28,289 entries. Through the preliminary selection, the Organizing Committee selected quality entries to send to the Ministry to participate in the final round and achieved high achievements. Specifically, in 2019, there was 1 first prize at the high school level; 1 prize for the best sharing of feelings. In 2020, there were 2 consolation prizes at the primary and high school levels. In 2021, there was 1 consolation prize at the primary school level and 1 second prize at the high school level. In 2022, there were 2 consolation prizes at the primary and high school levels. For the Online Book Introduction Contest launched in 2021, the Provincial Library has deployed and promoted it to relevant participating units.
