The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that today the highest tide level of the day at most stations on the Saigon River is slowly receding and remains high.
The peak tide level on November 7 at Phu An and Nha Be stations was 1.7-1.74m (0.1-0.14m above alert level 3). Peak tide time is 5pm-7pm.
Thu Dau Mot station is at 1.8-1.85m (0.2-0.25m above alarm level 3).
The risk level of natural disasters in the lower Saigon River is at level 2. This is the high tide period of the year, so it is necessary to guard against heavy rain combined with high tide causing flooding in low-lying areas and along the river, affecting traffic and socio- economic activities.
Besides, the tropical convergence zone located at 11-14 degrees north latitude is gradually moving north across Ho Chi Minh City, so today and tomorrow rain in the city and the Southeast region will increase.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that this evening and tonight, the South and Ho Chi Minh City will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 70mm. Warning of the risk of rain with intensity greater than 60mm/3 hours.
