More than 23,500 Hanoi students do not take the 10th grade public exam, record high passing rate

According to data from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the 2025 public 10th grade exam has 103,456 candidates registering their first choice. This is also the number of candidates taking the exam this year.

Meanwhile, the number of 9th grade students in the 2024-2025 school year is about 127,000. Thus, an estimated 23,500 students will not take the public 10th grade exam.

This number may include students admitted directly, students studying at private schools, international schools, students studying vocationaleducation - continuing education.

With a total public enrollment target of 79,740, the admission rate this year will reach about 77.07%. In 2024, this figure will be 72.3%.

By area, the place with the most candidates registering for the 10th grade exam is enrollment area number 6, including schools in the 3 districts of Dong Anh, Me Linh, and Soc Son.

The number of candidates registering for the first choice in this area is 14,166. The total number of 3 registered choices is 41,951.

Ranked second in the number of candidates registered is admission area No. 7, which includes schools in Nam Tu Liem district, Hoai Duc district and Dan Phuong district. The number of first wishes in this area is 12,913. The total number of 3 wishes is 31,184.

Admission area number 3 including Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Dong Da districts ranked 3rd with 12,495 applications for the first choice. The total of 3 choices is 24,067 turns.

The 2025 Hanoi public 10th grade exam will take place over 4 days. Candidates will complete exam registration procedures on June 6, the general exam on June 7-8, and the specialized exam on June 9.

The new highlight of this year's exam is the removal of the coefficient of 2 for math and literature. Thus, the total score of the 3 exams is not 50 like previous years but 30.

Admission score = Math score + Literature score + Foreign language score + Priority score (if any).

Besides, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , the exam scores and the 10th grade benchmark scores this year will be announced at the same time.
