The University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has just held a launching ceremony for the bachelor's program in Teaching Vietnamese as a Foreign Language. |
Chairman of the University Council Do Tuan Minh said that in 2025, the University of Foreign Languages celebrates its 70th anniversary and is also a special occasion for the University to introduce a completely new training program.
This is the first program specializing in teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language, combining linguistic, cultural and experiential knowledge, with courses such as Discovering Vietnam, Vietnamese History through Photos, Vietnamese Cultural Foundations, etc.
International students will be trained to level 5 in Vietnamese; Vietnamese students will reach level 4 in one of four foreign languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, ready for the journey of teaching Vietnamese in the future. The admission target includes both Vietnamese and foreigners; in which foreigners need to reach level 4 in Vietnamese and meet specific conditions, while Vietnamese will be considered for admission according to the combinations in the Admissions Plan of the University of Foreign Languages, VNU.
The goal is to train a team with deep expertise, understanding of Vietnamese culture and people, and at the same time having the ability to use foreign languages to teach, compare cultures and connect Vietnam with the world .
