More than 3,000 first candidates take the entrance exam to specialized grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City

The school organizes 3 testing locations in District 5 including: Gifted High School, Hong Bang Secondary School and Chu Van An Continuing Education Center.

Candidates will take the non-major exams in Literature, English (morning) and Math (afternoon) on May 26, and the major exam on May 27.

Candidates applying to the Gifted High School can register up to 8 wishes, with priority given to admission to the highest wish.

Students take at least four exams, including Math, Literature and English, along with one specialized subject exam.

This year, Gifted High School enrolls 17 specialized 10th grade classes with 595 students.

Of which, 9 specialized classes are recruited by subject, with 315 students, including: Math and English (4 classes), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and Information Technology (1 class for each subject).

In addition, 8 specialized classes are recruited by field, including 6 specialized classes in Natural Sciences and Technology, 2 specialized classes in Social Sciences, with a total quota of 280 students.

Thus, compared to the number of students registered for the exam and the quota, the competition ratio is 1/5.2. This is also the highest competition ratio in the past 5 years.

The admission score is the total score of the three exams: Literature, Math and English (coefficient 1) and the specialized subject exam (coefficient 2). The exam will be calculated on a 10-point scale.

According to a representative of the Gifted High School, the school recruits students nationwide, but the candidates registering for the exam are mainly 9th grade students in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2022, the 10th grade benchmark of the Gifted High School is from 22.1 to 32.6. The English specialized class has the highest benchmark, the Social Science specialized class has the lowest.
