More than 3,000 athletes participate in the "Quang Binh International Marathon 2024" race

The race is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 420th anniversary of the formation of Quang Binh province (1604 - 2024), the 75th anniversary of Quang Binh Uprising Day (July 15, 1949 - July 15, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the province's re-establishment (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2024).

The “Quang Binh International Marathon 2024” race attracted more than 3,000 domestic and international athletes. Foreign athletes mainly came from Japan, Korea, China, India, Singapore, Thailand, etc. The race took place with 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km; the starting and finishing points were Ho Chi Minh Square (Dong Hoi city). This year's race was also attended by representatives of Quang Binh province's leaders and leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

Thousands of athletes participating in the race had exciting experiences when running along the beautiful coastline, combined with exploring natural heritages and famous tourist attractions in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province such as: Mother Suot Monument, Quang Binh Gate, Dong Hoi Citadel, Tam Toa Church, Nhat Le River... This is also an opportunity for athletes with their families and friends to experience the sports -tourism trend as well as enjoy the unique cuisine of Quang Binh province.

According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament is an opportunity to honor and express gratitude for the historical, traditional, cultural values, and achievements of Quang Binh throughout the process of construction and development. The Organizing Committee also paid attention to and focused on introducing the image of the homeland, the people of Quang Binh, the beautiful landscapes, attractive and unique tourist destinations as well as the dishes and specialties of Quang Binh so that domestic and international tourists and friends can know and understand more about Quang Binh. The athletes have spread the spirit of sports together, contributing to the rise and sustainable development of Quang Binh.

At the end of the tournament, nearly 100 athletes with excellent achievements were awarded by the Organizing Committee in the distances of 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. The Organizing Committee also awarded team prizes to clubs and units with high achievements, in which the first team prize belonged to the Da Nang Runners - AnTa club./.
