The competency assessment exam is an exam for 12th graders or independent candidates to get the results for admission to universities and colleges in 2023. However, this is only one of the admission methods, so most candidates are not too worried before taking the exam.

Present at the exam site from 6:30 a.m., candidate Nguyen Bi Anh (Di An High School, Binh Duong province) said: " I am quite comfortable before the exam and will try to do well to become a new student at the University of Information Technology, majoring in Computer Science."

According to regulations, candidates must be present at the examination room at 7:30 to complete procedures and begin taking the test from 8:30 to 11:00.

The test consists of 120 multiple choice objective questions with a time limit of 150 minutes.

The test consists of 3 parts, focusing on assessing candidates' basic abilities to study at university, including 40 questions on using Vietnamese and English; 30 questions on Mathematics, logical thinking and data analysis; 50 questions on solving problems related to the fields of chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, politics and society.

The maximum score for the test is 1,200 points. Each question is weighted differently depending on the difficulty and differentiation of the question.

In particular, according to statistics, half of the candidates who registered for the second round took the exam in the first round. The reason is that according to regulations, candidates are allowed to take both rounds, and the round with the highest score will be used for admission consideration.

Currently, 97 units have registered to use this exam result for admission in 2023. Of which, 90 are universities, the rest are colleges. Of which, 66 units participate in the common admission system with nearly 1,600 majors.
