On May 29, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tien Giang province - said that she had just coordinated with the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association to organize the 2025 National Age Group Swimming and Diving Championship.
The tournament takes place from May 20 to 30 at the aquatic sports area - Tien Giang Province Sports Training and Competition Center.
The tournament includes two main events: the Age Group Swimming Championship taking place from May 20 to 25 and the Age Group Diving Championship taking place from May 27 to 30.
This year’s National Age Group Swimming and Diving Championships had a scale of up to 34 swimming teams, 354 athletes (including 158 female athletes) and 22 diving teams, with 260 athletes (including 125 female athletes). This year’s tournament is considered one of the competitions with the largest number of athletes participating in recent years.
After many days of exciting competition, the final result of the swimming tournament was that the Ho Chi Minh City team won first place with 52 gold medals, 61 silver medals, and 44 bronze medals.
The delegation of the National Defense Sports Center IV won second place overall with 22 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. The delegation of Thanh Hoa won third place overall with 11 gold medals and 3 silver medals.
Tien Giang athletes won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, this is an encouraging achievement because swimming has been recently invested in by Tien Giang province. The 2025 National Age Group Diving Championship is expected to end tomorrow, May 30.
