More than 600 athletes compete at the 1st Quang Tri Province Open Karate Club Championship

This morning, July 4, in Dong Hoi ward, the Provincial Karate Federation held the opening ceremony of the 1st Quang Tri Provincial Karate Clubs Open Championship - 2025, competing for the Hung Long Cup. The tournament takes place from July 4-6, 2025 at the Quang Tri Provincial Police Sports Stadium; gathering more than 600 male and female athletes from 20 Karate Clubs in Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Hue City and Hanoi City competing in Kumite and Kata events in 5 age groups: 6-8 years old, 9-11 years old, 12-14 years old, 15-17 years old and over 18 years old; competing according to the rules of the World Karate Federation (latest version in 2025).

The Quang Tri Province Open Karate Club Championship is organized to promote and develop the Karate training movement in the whole province; create opportunities for athletes to practice and compete to improve their skills; test and evaluate the capacity and professional level of the referee team to serve the organization of competitions and the training of the coaching team.

At the same time, discover and select talented and excellent athletes to introduce to the provincial Karate team and participate in Karate competitions in the Central Highlands and nationwide in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals of the Quang Binh Karate Federation (old); the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to 21 individuals with many outstanding achievements in participating in training and competing at the Central Highlands - Central Region Karate Championship in 2025.
