More than 920,000 Nghe An students excitedly start the new school year

The opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year was held briefly, solemnly, meaningfully and absolutely safely with full traditional rituals.

With the theme: "Creativity - Connection - Sharing - Sustainable Development", in this school year, Nghe An education sector has proposed three tasks and breakthrough solutions for development. These are ensuring comprehensive education quality, developing education in ethnic minority plains, mountainous areas, and disadvantaged areas; developing a team of teachers and education managers with adequate qualities, capacity, enthusiasm, responsibility, vision and creativity; proactively linking and strengthening international cooperation in education and training development, training high-quality human resources; especially in digital transformation of the education sector in the province.

In addition, the industry also sets out six specific tasks and solutions for each content and each level of education.

Previously, to prepare conditions for the new school year 2024-2025, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province issued a document requesting the departments of education and training, units under the department to proactively advise local Party committees and authorities, coordinate with departments, branches, unions, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to promote communication work to receive the attention of leaders at all levels and the support of all classes of people for the cause of educational innovation, especially the innovation of the 2018 General Education Program. Proactively propose solutions to strengthen facilities and improve the quality of education in accordance with the practical situation of the locality and unit.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, beat the drum to open the new school year.

Localities should review, arrange and deploy teaching staff, paying special attention to arranging enough teachers for grades 5, 9 and 12, ensuring enough textbooks for students, and not allowing a shortage of textbooks at the beginning of the school year.

The Department also requires schools to strictly implement documents on revenue, expenditure and socialization at the beginning of the school year, strictly prohibiting the imposition of illegal fees.

The 2024-2025 school year is a special year for the education sector, marking the end of the term of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels. This is also the year in which the 2018 General Education Program is implemented in all grades from grade 1 to grade 12 and is also the first year in which exams are organized according to the new General Education Program.

According to Thai Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, in response to this change, the education sector has recently invited teams of experts to train with core staff to design competency tests and organize teaching and learning according to competency development so that students can become familiar with this exam and have the skills to take it.

The industry also strengthens the direction of professional activities with core staff of the industry, district and schools so that schools can be proactive in the implementation process.

Before the new school year, the industry also announced the structure of the competency assessment test and the test specification matrix early so that schools and educational institutions know how to organize teaching, assessment and testing of students.
