Honda Vietnam confirmed that it will switch the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS to domestic assembly at the Phu Tho factory from early 2026. This move is to optimize costs and increase competitiveness, opening up opportunities for a more attractive selling price compared to the current VND 1.259 billion of the imported version from Thailand. This is also the first hybrid model assembled by Honda in Vietnam.

Assembled in Phu Tho : optimizing costs, consolidating segment position
Information about the localization of the CR-V e:HEV RS appeared from sales consultants, saying that the remaining imported hybrid vehicles are not many. On October 31, Honda Vietnam officially confirmed the domestic assembly plan from the beginning of 2026.
According to the announcement, when switching to assembly, the entire CR-V product line in Vietnam including G, L, L 4WD and e:HEV RS will be manufactured from the Phu Tho factory. This move helps Honda increase its competitiveness in the C-size SUV segment, where rivals such as Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson and Toyota Corolla Cross are present.
Localizing production is expected to help reduce costs related to imports and taxes, thereby creating room for more suitable prices for buyers.

Sales and market signals
Since the launch of the new generation in October 2023, the CR-V hybrid has quickly received attention despite its higher price than the gasoline version. By the end of September 2025, 1,558 CR-V e:HEV RS vehicles had been delivered to customers, becoming Honda Vietnam's best-selling hybrid model and ranking 4th in the entire market in the hybrid vehicle segment (according to published data).
After the CR-V e:HEV RS, Honda Vietnam introduced the Civic e:HEV RS and HR-V e:HEV RS. However, the CR-V e:HEV RS is still the core of sales in the company's hybrid segment.
Adoption roadmap and version range
Starting in early 2026, the CR-V e:HEV RS will be assembled domestically in Phu Tho. At the same time, the G, L and L 4WD versions will also be assembled domestically. According to information from the dealer, the remaining imported hybrid vehicles are not much before entering the new phase.
Conclude
The localization of the CR-V e:HEV RS marks an important milestone in Honda's electrification strategy in Vietnam. With 204 horsepower and 335 Nm, and an assembly plan from early 2026, this hybrid model has an additional cost advantage compared to the Thai imported car priced at VND 1,259 billion. With the entire CR-V product line assembled in Phu Tho, Honda has the basis to consolidate its position in the C-size SUV segment, where competition is increasingly fierce.
