Fire Police and Rescue Force of Hue City Police worked all night to evacuate people affected by heavy flooding to the police headquarters for safety.

According to records, in many departments and rooms for treating serious illnesses, the floodwaters were deep, Hue City Police mobilized more than 50 officers and soldiers to be present at the hospital, coordinating with medical staff, doctors, medical staff, hospital security guards and patients' relatives to work through the night to move nearly 100 serious illnesses and medical equipment to the upper floors to ensure patient safety during treatment.

Faced with rising flood waters and strong winds, the entire city of Hue was almost submerged in water, hundreds of thousands of houses from the city center to remote low-lying areas were flooded from 1 to 2 meters deep.

Due to the complicated developments of the flood, from late last night (October 27) to early this morning (October 28), hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Hue City Police and the police of wards and communes worked through the night to evacuate people who were heavily flooded to the police headquarters for refuge.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (born in 1968, resident of Thuan Hoa ward, Hue city) said: My family has lived in the city center for decades and has witnessed many floods, but never seen the water rise as fast and as deep as this flood. According to Ms. Thanh, the historic flood of the Great Flood in 1999, her family still had water levels entering the house, but compared to this year's flood, it is almost the same as the flood level in 1999.

On the evening of October 27, Mr. Ho Don, Chairman of Phong Dien Ward People's Committee, said that 6 people trapped in the forest had just returned home safely. Accordingly, on the same afternoon, the Phong Dien Ward Police (Hue City) coordinated with functional forces to successfully rescue 6 people trapped in Khe Cat area, on Provincial Road 71 leading to Rao Trang Hydropower Plant.

According to Mr. Ho Don, this group of people went to clear the forest when suddenly floodwaters from upstream poured in quickly, causing the road to be deeply flooded, many sections of water flowed rapidly, completely isolating them.
Upon receiving the news, Phong Dien Ward Police quickly deployed forces, coordinated with militia and functional units to organize rescue.

Due to the rising floodwaters, access to the scene was difficult, so rescuers had to use a crane truck to move each person across the dangerous area, ensuring absolute safety. By noon of the same day, all 6 people had been brought to a safe place, in stable health.

On the evening of October 27, continuous heavy rain caused floodwaters from upstream to rush into the Ta Trach River, collapsing the foot of Le No Bridge in Khe Tre Commune (Hue City). Le No Bridge is the route connecting residential group 3, Phu Mau village, K4 village with the center of Khe Tre Commune. The bridge collapse disrupted the travel of thousands of households.

Immediately after the incident, authorities were present at the scene, erected barriers and posted warning signs, not allowing people to pass through the dangerous area, and at the same time came up with a temporary solution to ensure safety and traffic for people.
