HUE - Heavy rain in Hue caused landslides on highway access roads, localized flooding in many areas, warning of continued heavy to very heavy rain.

Due to the influence of storm No. 1, on the morning of June 12, Hue City recorded the highest rainfall in the country. At Bach Ma peak (Phu Loc district), the rainfall exceeded 563mm; Khe Mo Rang station recorded more than 519mm, Bach Ma National Park more than 434mm.
Heavy rain caused localized flooding in many areas of Hue City and serious landslides on a section of the embankment leading to the La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway (through Huong Phu Commune, Phu Loc District). This route is currently temporarily closed to traffic, waiting for the rain to subside to handle and clear the route.
According to Mr. Dang Van Hoa - Chief of Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, some places in Hue City recorded rainfall of more than 100mm/3 hours. It is forecasted that from now until June 13, Hue will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, with total rainfall ranging from 70-200mm, with some places exceeding 300mm. From June 14, the rain will decrease rapidly.
Hue City has issued an official dispatch directing localities to be ready to respond according to the “four on-site” principle, preparing forces and means to rescue and evacuate people if necessary. Ships operating at sea have been asked to return to safe shelters.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Director of Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, the rain caused by storm No. 1 is an unusual phenomenon in the middle of summer, with heavy rainfall rarely seen in recent years.
