Tan An has long been considered the capital, provincial capital of Long An province. With that meaning, in recent times , the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has always paid attention to accompanying, monitoring , directing and supporting, creating conditions for the development of the city . Especially in the past 3 terms , from 2011 to present, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has issued 2 specialized resolutions to build and develop Tan An City . That is Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU, dated July 14, 2011 on building and developing Tan An City in the period 2011-2020 and Resolution No. 35-NQ/TU, dated April 8, 2022 on construction and development of Tan An City in the period 2021-2030.

In addition to the attention and support of the province, along with the efforts and determination of the entire political system and the people, Tan An City has achieved many outstanding results. That is, the economy is increasingly developing, the growth rate is maintained at a high level. Average income per capita in 2010 reached 30.8 million VND/person/year, by 2015 it reached over 60 million VND and by 2022 it will be over 100 million VND. State budget revenue from under 100 billion VND, by 2022 it will reach over 800 billion VND. The city was recognized as completing the task of building new rural areas in the period of 2011-2019; recognized as meeting the standards of a type II urban area in 2019;...

Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tan An City - Le Cong Dinh said that the Resolution of the Party Congress of Tan An City, term 2020-2025, determined the task of building Tan An City to basically meet the criteria of a type I urban area by 2025 in the direction of a friendly, civilized and modern urban area. In the past time, the city has made efforts and focused on solutions to speed up the implementation of the province's driving force projects; 3 key projects and 2 breakthrough programs of the City Party Committee. The Hung Vuong - National Highway 62 intersection project (the province's driving force project) completed 3 key projects: Ward 2 Park - Phase 2; Bao Dinh River embankment project; anti-flooding drainage system in the inner city area " finished" 2 years ahead of schedule. The completed projects put into use contributed to the completion of the socio -economic infrastructure system, creating momentum for the city's development.

In particular, after more than half of the term, the city has achieved 15/17 targets set by the Resolution of the 11th City Party Congress. From there, the urban appearance has been increasingly renewed, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved.

In the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, with the main idea of forming 2 corridors, 1 center, 3 development zones and 6 dynamic axes, Tan An City is identified as the center of the province. In addition, in the Resolution of the 10th Provincial Party Congress (term 2015-2020), 2 breakthrough programs and 3 key projects were issued and the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress (term 2020-2025) issued 3 breakthrough programs and 3 key projects, all with investment projects in Tan An City. Among them, Tan An City Ring Road (including the bridge over the Vam Co Tay River) must be mentioned. This is an important basis and premise for Tan An to strive to build the city into a class I urban area before 2030 .

X deserves to be the "heart" of the province.

Giving suggestions for further development of Tan An City, former Provincial Party Secretary - Le Thanh Tam said: " The key projects proposed in the city from now until 2030 will help our city become larger, more beautiful, and more spacious. Of course, everyone wants more projects to develop the city, but the problem is resources. Therefore, I suggest that comrades consider, when proposing a project, we must take into account the resources to implement it."

Former Provincial Party Secretary Pham Thanh Phong said: “I am really happy to see the city has many innovations. I think that if we want the city to develop further, to meet the expectations and hopes of the people, the city needs to pay attention to investing and building worthy and impressive projects... To do that, I think the province needs to support capital for the city. At the same time, the city must train human resources, focus on developing cadres to suit the 4.0 technology era...”.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that in the coming time, Tan An needs to rekindle the aspiration to build a city. friendly, civilized, modern, promoting revolutionary traditions, endogenous strength and innovation, creativity . Besides, it is necessary to develop the city to be worthy of being the political, administrative, economic, cultural, scientific - technical center , and truly worthy of being the "heart" of the province .

Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc also requested the city leaders Tan An must remove "bottlenecks" and clear "bottlenecks" in organizing and implementing tasks smoothly and synchronously, especially completing traffic infrastructure, urban infrastructure, training human resources and improving the effectiveness of administrative reform and digital transformation. In particular, it is necessary to be close to the people, respect the people, seriously listen to and promptly resolve the opinions, thoughts and aspirations of the people .

In addition, the city needs to synchronously implement 8 key tasks and solutions of Resolution No. 35 of the Provincial Party Committee in conjunction with implementing urban planning Tan An and Long An Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. In particular, focusing on reviewing and completing the criteria for a type I urban area with a practical, objective spirit, not chasing after achievements, for an ecological, civilized, modern, smart capital with highlights, worthy of being the political, administrative, economic, cultural, scientific and technical center of the province, to create a clear momentum for the next term, the term 2025-2030./.
