Quang Ninh District General Hospital is a grade II district hospital with a scale of 175 beds, with 214 beds actually available. Previously a hospital with a low number of patients coming for examination and treatment, but recently, Quang Ninh District General Hospital has made strong changes, becoming a trusted address for local people.

Doctor Nguyen Van Than, Director of Quang Ninh District General Hospital, said that in order to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people, the hospital has identified investment in machinery and equipment, and application of technology in medical examination and treatment as an important factor. Currently, the hospital is relatively fully equipped with modern equipment and machinery, meeting professional requirements, such as: Biochemistry testing machine, immunology testing machine, 10-parameter urine test, 18-parameter automatic hematology test, 3D color ultrasound, endoscopic surgery set, etc.
In order for the machines to operate effectively and meet the medical needs of the people, the hospital has created conditions for staff, doctors and nurses to regularly access modern machines and equipment so that they can use them well in medical examination and treatment. Many difficult techniques have been successfully performed by doctors and nurses, such as: Atrial septal fistula surgery, endoscopic surgery to suture gastric perforations, surgery to fracture and remove screws for all types of fractures, autologous skin grafting, surgery to remove benign tumors, etc. Techniques that could not be performed before and required patients to be transferred to higher levels have now been successfully performed by the hospital.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Quang Ninh District General Hospital, with the attention of all levels and sectors, the machinery and equipment in the department basically meet the medical examination and treatment needs of local people. Currently, the hospital is installing a 32-row CT scanner, expected to be put into operation in April 2024. In addition to participating in training courses and accessing new machinery and equipment, doctors in the department are also actively researching and learning to make the most of the equipment serving medical examination and treatment at the hospital. "Since having a system of modern and specialized machinery, doctors and nurses have worked more conveniently, the work is less difficult and the quality of medical examination and treatment is also better. People have more trust, the number of patients needing medical examination and treatment at the hospital has also increased compared to before," said Dr. Cuong.

With the goal of improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for people, Quang Ninh District General Hospital always focuses on developing human resources and improving the quality of medical staff. “I have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, was admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing, and had to be admitted to the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Anti-Poison Department.
