In the first 5 months of the year, the State Treasury mobilized VND 162,952 billion, reaching 48.4% of the issuance plan for the second quarter and 40.74% of the plan for 2023, especially an increase of 188.4% over the same period in 2022.
In May, the State Treasury called for bids for 5 terms including 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and 30 years, in which the issuance ratio reached the highest at the 15-year and 10-year terms, respectively 43.4% and 32.1% of the total issuance volume in the month. Winning interest rates continued to decrease at all terms, with a decrease of 27 to 35 basis points compared to the last session of April. At the auction at the end of May, the winning interest rates for the 5-year, 10-year, 15-year, 20-year and 30-year terms were 2.4%; 2.95%; 3.05%, 3.19% and 3.4%, respectively.
Secondary bond transactions in May had a total transaction value of VND 132,568 billion, an average of VND 6,628 billion/session, an increase of 1.43% compared to the previous month.
The average trading yield of Government bonds issued by the State Treasury decreased the most in the 25-year, 25-30-year and 7-year terms, down 36.49%; 22.77% and 14.58% respectively compared to the same period last month, currently reaching the average yield of about 3.44%; 3.826% and 2.76% respectively. Meanwhile, the trading yield of Government bonds with a 20-25-year term increased by 1.09% compared to the same period last month, and currently reaching the average yield of about 4.35%.
Regarding trading terms, medium and long-term terms are the most traded terms in the whole market, of which the most traded terms in the month are 10-year, 15-year, and 10-15-year terms with proportions to the total trading value of the whole market being 25.75%; 18.02% and 11.40%, respectively.
In May, the commercial banking sector accounted for 75.46% of the total market transaction value and the securities company sector accounted for 24.54%./.
