The working group worked at two models: Mr. Lai Tien Ha's household (growing melons in Vinh Hoa commune) and the Green-skinned grapefruit fruit cooperative (Tan Long commune). Of which, the green-skinned grapefruit model was assessed to maintain good VietGAP production processes, ensuring hygiene in the cultivation area, full production records and food safety at output. This model is eligible to propose support according to regulations. Mr. Ha's household is currently temporarily suspending cultivation so is not eligible to receive support.
Coordinating inspection and evaluation helps identify the right beneficiaries of the policy, while also motivating people to maintain clean, safe and transparent production.
In recent times, Phu Giao district has closely coordinated with the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection to effectively implement the VietGAP support policy. Up to now, the whole district has 37 certified models, forming safe fruit and vegetable growing areas in communes such as An Binh, Tam Lap, Phuoc Sang, etc.
These models not only improve the quality of agricultural products but also create a solid foundation for the development of high-tech agriculture , aiming at an open and sustainable consumer market.
