Tien Yen District: Effectiveness from a campaign

In recent years, the Tien Yen District Fatherland Front Committee at all levels has promoted its role in gathering people, doing a good job of propaganda and effectively implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

Mr. Ly Quang Sinh's family (Na Bac village, Dong Hai commune) is one of the pioneering households in Dong Hai commune to donate land as soon as the commune had a policy to build inter-village roads. With the propaganda and mobilization of the commune government and Fatherland Front, Mr. Sinh donated 80m2 ^. of the family, mostly fruit gardens, fences and outbuildings.

“Although land is a valuable asset, with the propaganda of the local government and organizations to build inter-village roads, I actively persuaded my family to agree to donate land and dismantle the construction to facilitate the local government to build the road. At the same time, I and the villagers contributed working days to quickly complete the road,” Mr. Sinh shared.

Na Bac village (Dong Hai commune) has 176 households, 95% of whom are ethnic minorities. In September 2024, Dong Hai commune started construction of the Na Bac inter-village road with a length of ^1,750m2 , with a cost of 11 billion VND, from the capital for building new rural areas. To expand the road, 31 households on the road had to donate land. It seemed that the site clearance work would face many difficulties, because the majority of the people are ethnic minorities. But with the active mobilization of the local government and Fatherland Front with the criteria of the state and the people working together, 31 households donated land with ^7,000m2 .

Mr. Vu Huy Thuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Hai Commune said: In order for 100% of households on both sides of the road to donate land, we coordinated with the village to hold village meetings, and went to people's houses to mobilize them. Many households were not aware of donating land at first, so we asked reputable people in the village to mobilize them. Up to now, the site clearance work has been completed, and the road is in the process of completion.

The Dong Hai Clean Agricultural Production Cooperative model is one of the typical models in the new rural construction program in Na Bac village (Dong Hai commune).

In order to bring the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" into life, the Fatherland Front Committee and political organizations of Tien Yen district have had many creative ways to mobilize the participation of the entire political system and people, effectively promoting resources in society. In 3 years (2020-2023), local people have donated ^150,000m2 land for building inter-village roads; organizations, individuals, and businesses supported the construction of 74 new solidarity houses; the whole district built over 20,345m of flower roads and ^1,232m2 murals; 10,183 households use standard lidded trash cans; 76 roads with a length of over 38km are lit...

The District Fatherland Front Committee and its members also promoted propaganda and mobilized people to invest in building seafood farming areas and expanding concentrated farms, from which a number of large-scale production models were formed such as: Tien Yen chicken farming model, growing red-whiskered bulbul chili, Atlantic potatoes, four-season lemon and orange models...

With the determination of the entire political system and people, Tien Yen district was recognized by the Prime Minister as an advanced new rural district in 2023. By the end of 2023, the average income per capita of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Tien Yen district reached 73.8 million VND/year, an increase of 1.47 times compared to 2019. The whole district no longer has poor households according to the criteria prescribed by the Central Government.

The implementation of civilized lifestyle has been promoted by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members and has been widely supported by the people. Many organizations and individuals have joined hands to support facilities for community activities. At the same time, conventions, village regulations, and civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals have been effectively built and implemented. Since then, over 90% of villages and neighborhoods have been recognized as district-level cultural villages and neighborhoods every year, and over 90% of families have achieved the title of Cultural Family.

Ms. Vi Thi Tu, Chairwoman of the Tien Yen District Fatherland Front Committee, said: In the coming time, we will continue to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", promote and mobilize agricultural production linkages along the value chain associated with the implementation of the "two children, one tree" program; promote and mobilize to increase the rate of households using clean water; encourage and motivate new factors; replicate typical and advanced models; promptly honor and reward outstanding organizations and individuals.
