Previously, Nam Khanh impressed with his IELTS score of 8.0, SAT score of 1560, and his 10th and 11th grade GPA of 9.6. In addition, Nam Khanh also participated in many school activities such as badminton club, science projects, and volunteer projects.

It is known that Nam Khanh has applied to several schools such as Colby College, University of Richmond, Case Western Reserve University, Drexel University, Dickinson College... and has just received the results from Colby College.

Nam Khanh revealed an essay about his journey of discovering the relationship between himself and the people around him, as well as the relationship with himself. That journey started from feeling "different" and lonely, to learning how to connect without losing himself, and ended with a more mature version, knowing how to love himself more.

"I realized that American university admissions officers highly value essays that use comparisons, so I applied a similar method. In my essay, I used the image of an "alien" to symbolize the difference between myself and each individual compared to other individuals in the community.

"Each person, to me, is an alien living on their own planet, with thoughts and emotions shaped by the subjective perspective of their planet. "Planet" here can be understood as the inner world of each person, each planet is different and beautiful in its own way," Nam Khanh shared.

Not only preparing carefully in the essay, the male student also has a reasonable plan and roadmap for the goal of studying abroad because this is one of the most important things. "Students can go to study abroad support centers to receive help and have a more professional, smooth and easier profile building process. Because sometimes, building a study abroad profile will be quite heavy and difficult to research, explore and do everything by yourself for many of you. However, if you are really determined, you can still do it completely.

After having a reasonable plan, you just need to start slowly implementing the set goals so that your profile is complete and beautiful. Besides the profile, you also need to spend time polishing and editing the main essay and supplementary essay (if any) to increase your chances of receiving a scholarship," Nam Khanh revealed the secret to having an impressive profile.

Always responsible and disciplined

Studying at a top school in Hanoi and having an IELTS score of 8.0 and SAT score of 1560, Nam Khanh believes that to achieve this, he needs to be responsible and disciplined towards his goals. If he can do the above two things, he will be able to do not only studying but also everything else and complete it well.

In addition to studying, Nam Khanh also spends a lot of time on creative activities such as drawing, writing or reading, sports activities to maintain strength, improve health and learn about favorite fields.

Nam Khanh, who received a scholarship from the first school to announce the results and also his favorite school, said he would decide to study at Colby College, majoring in Economics. The reason is that Economics helps the student gain a deeper understanding of how the world works and contribute to solving important social problems. From personal experiences, Khanh has realized the importance of economics in shaping people's opportunities and quality of life.

"To prepare for studying abroad, I will learn more about the school and the place where I will live through the Vietnamese seniors who have studied at Colby. At the same time, I also need to practice discipline in terms of time, work and rest so that I can be healthy and confident to face the upcoming challenges in the future. It is indispensable that I learn more life skills such as cooking and cleaning to serve the independent life in the upcoming foreign land.

Currently, I will try to study and complete the program at the Foreign Language High School. I thank my family and teachers for always being with me on this journey," Nam Khanh expressed.

Commenting on his son, Mr. Tran Van Cap, Nam Khanh's father, said: "He is a boy with a very adult mindset. He has dreams and ambitions about his own development and future work. He is also very enthusiastic and responsible in his work, has plans and makes efforts to make his dreams come true."

Talking about his views on raising children, Mr. Cap shared: "First is to be honest, live responsibly with yourself and your family as well as those who love you. Second, create the best conditions for your children to develop their wishes as well as regularly encourage them to try to complete the plans they have set. Third, parents only give their views for their children to refer to, but the decision is theirs. The family respects their children and teaches them to learn more and do better in jobs that serve their own lives, not depending on their parents."
