According to information revealed by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will upgrade the front-facing FaceTime camera for the iPhone 17. This would be a significant improvement over the current iPhone 15 series.
The iPhone 17 will have a major camera upgrade.
Accordingly, the front camera system of the iPhone 17 will be upgraded to 24MP resolution instead of 12MP like the iPhone 15 series.
The source also indicated that the iPhone 17's FaceTime camera will use a 6-element lens compared to the 5-element lens used in the 15 and 16 models.
It seems the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be the first iPhones to feature Face ID facial recognition under the screen. The selfie camera will still be a punch-hole design.
However, we still have to wait for official information from Apple in the near future.
