IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee said Israeli air force fighter jets attacked military infrastructure near the border crossing between Syria and Lebanon, which Hezbollah actively uses to smuggle weapons from Syria to Lebanon.

"The raid came after we observed the transfer of Hezbollah combat equipment from Syria to Lebanon even though the ceasefire was in effect. This action poses a threat to Israel and violates the ceasefire agreement ," said Avichay Adraee.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect on November 27. Some Israeli forces remained in southern Lebanon after the ground operation launched in October and under the terms of the ceasefire, they are expected to withdraw within the next 60 days.

However, Hezbollah appears to still be active in Lebanon. Mr. Adraee said some of the militants were spotted in southern Lebanon, where a vehicle containing RPGs, ammunition and military equipment was found. Moments later, Israeli air force aircraft attacked the vehicle.

" In another incident, Israeli aircraft attacked military vehicles operating inside Hezbollah's missile production infrastructure deep inside Lebanon," Mr. Adraee said.

On November 30, the Israeli army also discovered combat equipment inside the mosque used by Hezbollah members.

Previously, Hezbollah and the Lebanese side also accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire, while Israel said it identified a number of suspicious activities that posed a threat.

Lebanese state media and security sources said Israeli tanks hit five towns and several agricultural fields in southern Lebanon, wounding two people.

Hezbollah lawmaker in the Lebanese parliament , Hassan Fadlallah, accused Israel of attacking people returning to border villages.

All areas are within 2 km of the green line that demarcates the border between Lebanon and Israel, in what the Israeli army has declared a no-go zone along the border.
