Leading the Vietnamese Judo team is the Head of Delegation, Colonel Ho Chau Tuan, Director of the National Defense Sports Center II, Military Region 7. The Vietnamese martial artists compete in 4 events: Ju No Kata (Nguyen Bao Ngoc - Tran Le Phuong Nga), Katame No Kata (Nguyen Tuong Vy - Mai Thi Bich Tram), Kime No Kata (Nguyen Cuong Thinh - Ta Duc Huy) and Kodokan Goshin Jutsu (Tran Quoc Cuong - Phan Minh Hanh).
The duo Phan Minh Hanh and Tran Quoc Cuong have excellently created a miracle for Vietnamese Judo.
After two days of difficult competition, the kata team (Judo boxing) created a historic miracle for Vietnamese Judo when they won the silver medal in the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu event for the couple Tran Quoc Cuong - Phan Minh Hanh.
Sharing about this achievement, Colonel Ho Chau Tuan, Head of the delegation, Director of the National Defense Sports Center II, Military Region 7, said that this success followed the achievement of 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medal at the 2019 Asian Kata Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand. With the first silver medal won at the World Judo Championship, Vietnam showed its progress as well as the effectiveness in investment. From there, continue to promote the development of the movement so that Vietnamese Judo continues to develop more strongly.

The 2023 World Judo Kata Championships will be held in Abu Dhabi on October 28-29. The tournament will bring together 288 athletes from 35 countries. Of which, the event where Vietnam won a medal had the largest participation of up to 40 athletes. This proves that the silver medal is not only a miracle but also a great effort from the athlete couple as well as the coaching staff and the support of the Head of the Delegation as well as the Vietnam Judo Federation and the Department of Physical Training and Sports .
