The NGO War Child launched the first Secret 7" competition in 2013. Since its launch, the project has quickly attracted the participation of creatives from all over the world, because the community benefit of the event goes beyond the framework of a competition. War Child uses all proceeds from the works to protect, educate and help children affected by conflicts.
700 works on display in 2020
Secret 7" is a competition to design 7-inch vinyl album covers for 7 songs, from 7 famous artists, each recorded 100 times, sold through an online auction. Before the auction, 700 designs will be displayed at NOW Gallery, UK.
In addition to the charitable purpose, the humanistic value of Secret 7" is also expressed through the "secret" element of the contest. Buyers are not allowed to disclose product information (identity of singer and designer) before the time of sale. This promotes fair competition between works, while also arousing interest in music- loving audiences.
Secret 7 's productions show artistic diversity, the different reactions of creative people to the same piece of music.
