Workers and students connect with job seekers at the job fair.
Actively support
According to Ly Thuy Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town, the 2025 Job Fair aims to provide labor market information to residents and students in the town. It also aims to strengthen information exchange between businesses, employment service providers, and vocational training institutions in recruiting and supporting local workers in finding jobs.
“This year's Job Fair attracted more than 1,000 workers, union members, young people, and students from the locality. Businesses participating in the event also had recruitment needs for more than 12,000 positions both domestically and internationally. In addition, the online job exchange platform of the An Giang Provincial Employment Service Center also had more than 500 job positions submitted by businesses. These are reputable job opportunities, helping local workers connect with reliable employers and stable income sources,” emphasized Ly Thuy Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town.
In 2024, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town, together with specialized departments and localities, introduced 6,562 workers to work in and outside the province, achieving 164% of the set resolution. Notably, they facilitated the placement of 50 workers in temporary overseas employment contracts in Japan, Taiwan, etc., reaching 178.5% of the target, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and the socio -economic development of the locality.
Attending the event, Mr. Tran Van Benl (a participant in the labor export program to Japan) shared: “Through the efforts of the local authorities, I registered to work in Japan as an intern for a period of 3 years. I was selected for an interview and was fortunate enough to be hired for a factory carpentry job, with a basic salary of 35 million VND/month, not including overtime. Each month, I work 18-22 days, and after deducting all expenses, my income is about 25 million VND. During my time in Japan, I studied Japanese to prepare for my future career. After 3 years of work, I have saved more than 400 million VND to send back to my family.”
After returning to Vietnam, Tran Van Benl was recruited by ENIX Human Resources Supply Company Limited and assigned to manage the Tinh Bien town area. He affirmed that participating in overseas labor export helped him change himself and find a good job to build his future.
Improve efficiency
Speaking at the 2025 Job Fair in Tinh Bien Town, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (Representative of Angiaco Joint Stock Company - Ico Group) said: “Over the past 17 years, Ico Group has selected and trained more than 20,000 people to study and work in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, and Australia. In reality, labor export helps to quickly solve the employment problem for young people and workers, providing them with a stable source of income.”
Ms. Phuong Thao also noted that exporting labor to developed countries will help improve human resources and create an industrial work ethic for workers. Therefore, if young people want to improve their skills, learn more work experience, and accumulate finances, then labor export is a suitable path. However, workers need to go through reputable consulting and recruitment agencies that have been vetted by relevant departments and localities to avoid unwanted problems.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs Nguyen Hoang Minh Thu stated: “The Job Fair and Career Counseling Day in Tinh Bien Town is an important event, helping to strengthen information connections and create links between recruiting businesses and workers in the border region. This opens up job opportunities for the people, improving the effectiveness of job placement and vocational training support in the locality. The labor market in the first months of 2025 was very vibrant, creating many job opportunities. In particular, the provincial leadership is very interested in the field of labor, employment, and improving the quality of human resources, considering this one of the important tasks contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.”
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Minh Thu suggested that the leaders of Tinh Bien town continue to pay attention to implementing practical solutions to develop an effective and sustainable labor market. She emphasized the need to strengthen career guidance, connect labor supply and demand, and create a favorable environment to contribute to socio-economic development in the province. In particular, she stressed the importance of sending workers abroad under contract to improve the quality of the workforce.
“We also hope that labor recruitment and consulting businesses will continue to cooperate with localities in providing information and support to workers to find stable jobs. For workers, it is necessary to have new mindsets, proactively identify and choose careers that suit them to build a better future,” emphasized Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs Nguyen Hoang Minh Thu.
