The result is that no one wants to receive money.

They were blood brothers, but when faced with the property their mother left behind, no one was willing to give in. In the end, they had to resort to the law to divide the property.

Mrs. Wang, in China, has three children, two boys and one girl. Her husband is in poor health, so the whole family depends on her to survive. Raising and educating three children has never been easy, so she always tries her best, working hard in the hope that her children will study and have a better life.

Contrary to her expectations, her two sons did not do well in school. The eldest son dropped out of school after finishing middle school. The second son also dropped out after finishing 11th grade because he got into fights with his friends at school. Only her daughter made her feel secure because she was obedient and well-behaved.

Now, Ms. Wang’s two sons are over 20 years old and both work. Every month, they send her 1,000 yuan (equivalent to 3.5 million VND). Her daughter is married and has a husband in the neighboring village, so she occasionally comes to visit her.

Mrs. Vuong stays at home and cultivates a few acres of rice fields. Occasionally, she accepts any job offers to earn some extra money. Mr. Vuong cannot work to earn money, but fortunately, his health is quite good. At least he can still take care of himself.

Being a frugal person, Mrs. Vuong did not pay much attention to her health. When she had a cold or a stomachache, she just took a few pills. One time she had a headache, this time she took medicine for several days but there was no sign of improvement.

That morning, as she was getting ready for work, she suddenly fainted. Luckily, a neighbor found her and took her to the hospital. After a check-up, the doctor diagnosed her with a stroke. From that day on, she was unable to walk or speak.

Hearing that their mother was sick, the two sons returned to their hometown. They found that their mother had no serious problems, and that other than being unable to walk and talk, everything was fine, so they quickly went to the city. Now, by her side was only her filial daughter, who came to take care of her and cook for her every day.

Life went on like this for two years until Mrs. Vuong passed away.

Receiving the phone call informing them of their mother's death, the two sons hurriedly bought tickets to return home. After arranging their mother's funeral, they wanted to quickly divide the property that their mother left behind. The eldest brother told his younger sister that although she had taken care of their mother all this time, she was only a married daughter, and the family property had nothing to do with her. The gentle younger sister could only silently listen to her brother.

After rummaging through the house, the second son found a box under the bed. He opened it and found a savings book with 50,000 yuan (equivalent to 175 million VND). Everyone was very surprised because they could not believe that their mother had so much money. In addition, he found a piece of paper with the scribbled words: "You two should discuss among yourselves: one of you will take this money and the other will take the land compensation money because this house is about to be demolished."

Immediately, the two brothers began arguing because each wanted to take the compensation money for the land. The argument reached its peak when neither would give in. In the end, they had no choice but to resort to the law to resolve the matter.

The assets that parents leave behind not only show their love and hope for their children, but also their desire for them to have a better and happier life. However, for Mrs. Vuong’s family, money has become the cause of rifts between family members. Instead of uniting and supporting each other, the two siblings argued over assets, and eventually had to seek legal intervention.
