The Prime Minister congratulated outstanding teachers representing 1.6 million teachers nationwide.

Informing the Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that, including the public and non-public sectors, the country currently has 1.6 million teachers at all levels of education from preschool, general education, vocational training and university.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen, a teacher at Muong Toong Primary Boarding School No. 1, Muong Nhe District (Dien Bien), shared that after many years working in the education sector, she has witnessed the constant changes in the sector.

Dien Bien is a border province in the west of the country, with a very remote geographical location, the people here are mainly ethnic minorities, access to general education is limited.

However, in recent years, thanks to the attention of the Party and the State to the cause of education, many schools have been built with modern teaching equipment such as computers and projectors. This is also the motivation for professionals like Ms. Chuyen to devote themselves to the cause of education in the border areas.

Ms. Dao Thi Hue, President of the Trade Union of Hai Phong School for Blind Children

Ms. Dao Thi Hue, President of the Trade Union of Hai Phong School for Blind Children, said that for teachers of disabled children, happiness comes from very small, very ordinary things.

"Happiness is when children go to school and can practice daily life skills, such as being able to get dressed, eat by themselves, greet the teacher, recognize their class, and write awkward lines on a card for the teacher on November 20," Ms. Hue shared.

Listening to the feelings of teachers, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed that November 20 can be considered a "New Year's Day" for teachers, a sacred day that affirms the tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing education" of the Vietnamese people.

With the feelings of a student, a teacher and a parent, the Prime Minister was delighted to welcome the exemplary teachers who have made outstanding contributions to the country's education and training, representing 1.6 million teachers and educational administrators nationwide.

According to the Prime Minister, throughout the history of building and defending the country, education has always accompanied and fostered the nation's long-standing culture, meeting the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland in each period.

In the process of innovation, the education sector has constantly developed and innovated in thinking, perception and methods; both the scale and quality of teaching and learning, making great contributions to the innovation and integration process of the country.

Our country has transformed from a poor, backward, and heavily devastated country after the war into a country with the 34th largest economy in the world by 2023; from a country that had to fight "hunger and illiteracy", with more than 90% of its population illiterate, to become the world's leading rice exporter and ranked 59th in the world in terms of education quality.

The Head of Government affirmed that, overcoming the devastation of war, difficulties caused by siege and embargo, the Vietnamese education sector has risen up, asserted itself, and achieved very proud achievements compared to the scale of the economy, per capita income and facilities...

Bringing Vietnamese education to an advanced level

Towards the new era, the era of building a rich and prosperous country, according to the Prime Minister, education continues to be the top national policy. The country's education and training must be drastically reformed more fundamentally and comprehensively, must be built with real quality and creativity, so that Vietnamese education and training can reach the advanced level of the Asian region by 2030 and the advanced level of the world by 2045.

Along with the development of the Law on Teachers, it is necessary to mobilize and effectively use resources to invest in facilities, especially kitchens, ensure school health and hygiene, promote prevention of school violence, and continue to build and develop school culture.

The Prime Minister spoke at the meeting

Improve the quality of teachers and staff working in education and training. Focus on reviewing and perfecting recruitment, employment and remuneration mechanisms and policies so that teachers can enjoy salaries commensurate with their efforts, especially preschool teachers, those working in remote, disadvantaged areas, teachers teaching arduous and hazardous professions...

In particular, it is necessary to promptly overcome the local shortage of teachers, and properly implement the spirit of "where there are students, there are teachers".

The Prime Minister also emphasized three issues: perfecting the education and training system to suit Vietnam's conditions and circumstances, making it feasible, comprehensive, and inclusive.

Build a mechanism to mobilize resources (state resources, social resources, public-private partnership resources, and other legal resources) to increasingly improve educational and training facilities to be on par with developed countries.

Developing a team of teachers with increasingly higher quality, more comprehensive, suitable to the new situation, meeting new requirements, loving the profession more and more, being more and more passionate about students, and being more and more proud of the profession.

"To have good students, we must have good teachers. We must respect differences and diversity, encourage creativity, have critical thinking, passion for exploration, a desire to contribute..., and maximize the potential, intelligence and qualities of each student. Each teacher needs to be an endless source of igniting the fire of passion and enthusiasm in the young generation...", the Prime Minister emphasized.
