Foreign tourist absent-mindedly forgot wallet and passport on the train

Today (November 4), railway staff twice returned valuable belongings to foreign passengers who left them on the train.


According to the Vietnam Railway Corporation, this morning, the captain of the SP4 Lao Cai - Hanoi train, Pham Quang Chien, returned his belongings to a foreign passenger at Hanoi station. This passenger bought a separate sleeping compartment, but after getting off the train, he left behind a black backpack.

Inside were several foreign currencies, totaling 439 US dollars, 190 Australian dollars; in addition there was also a passport, headphones, iPod music player.

Lost passenger property.

At Da Nang station, at 12:57, when train SE4 was leaving the station to continue its journey to Hanoi station, the attendant in charge of car number 10A, Nguyen Thi Thoan, while changing the bedsheets, discovered a passenger's belongings left on the train. The train captain checked and made a report. Inside were 15.7 million VND, 100 EURO, 30,800 Cambodian Dong; along with a passport and 5 visa cards all under the name Fien Leenaerts, a passenger of a travel company.

Train captain SE4 Tran Xuan Tra contacted the representative of the travel company and agreed to hand over the property to Hue station to send the train to Da Nang station as soon as possible and return it to the passengers.

Receiving their forgotten property back, the passengers were very happy and sent their thanks to the kind, honest and dedicated train staff.
