Opening of 2 photo exhibitions to celebrate the 30-4 National Day

The photo exhibition is displayed at 3 locations: Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street and opposite Chi Lang Park.

On Nguyen Hue walking street, there are more than 200 images on display with the theme "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the New Era of Development of the Vietnamese People" and "Pride of a Border Strip". Of which, there are 95 images showing the long journey of steadfast, indomitable struggle full of sacrifices and hardships of our army and people in the resistance war against the US, the peak of which was the heroic struggle of the army and people of the South, together with the great mobilization of human and material resources of the whole country, carried out three key strategic blows (the Central Highlands campaign, the Hue - Da Nang campaign and the Ho Chi Minh campaign) to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975.

At the same time, the exhibition displays outstanding and typical works of the 3rd "Proud of a Border Strip" art photography contest organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission in coordination with the Central External Relations Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, to honor and depict the life, work, activities, and combat training of our army and people who are day and night firmly protecting the borders of the Fatherland, especially in places where many ethnic minorities live, reflecting the glorious 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

On Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City), the Organizing Committee displayed 70 images with the theme "Working class - The driving force in the movement to fight for national liberation and build a sustainable country" demonstrating the strength of great national unity with the working class as the vanguard force of the Vietnamese Revolution, combined with the support of international friends and workers of other countries to create great spiritual strength, contributing to the political and diplomatic victory that led to the Great Spring Victory of 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.

The exhibition highlights the image of workers, civil servants and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City who "dare to think, dare to do" in production with a dynamic, self-reliant and pioneering spirit in all fields, actively studying and researching science, proactively reforming administration, approaching and applying modern technology and techniques, creating new methods and models, suitable to the practical characteristics of the city in production and society in the new period.

The area opposite Chi Lang Park displays 55 images with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City – 50 years of shining in his name”. The images show famous architectural works that still exist through many historical ups and downs, along with works that have had a profound impact on people’s lives.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, shared: "The 2024 "Proud of a Border Strip" art photography contest attracted nearly 2,000 authors from all over the country, with more than 14,000 entries. The works were carefully invested, with a lot of enthusiasm, closely following the theme, creating new shooting angles, conveying authentic, emotional images, vividly reflecting the beauty of the homeland, country and people of Vietnam.

Many works have contributed to spreading examples and simple but noble and sacred actions, to honor the forces that are day and night firmly protecting the border, border sovereignty, national territory, and the living space of the nation; highlighting the glorious 80-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army. In addition, the exhibition also introduces an overview of the heroic struggle of the army and people of the South in the resistance war against the US, and the achievements of the city over the past 50 years, affirming the great internal strength, gradually transforming strongly".
