Opening of the Red Journey and Voluntary Blood Donation Festival "Central Highlands Red Drops" in 2025

On the morning of June 3, at the Ea Kar District Cultural Center, the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee coordinated with the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to organize the opening ceremony of the Red Journey "Connecting Vietnamese Blood" and the "Central Highlands Red Drops" Voluntary Blood Donation Festival in 2025.

On the morning of June 3, at the Ea Kar District Cultural Center, the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee coordinated with the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to organize the opening ceremony of the Red Journey "Connecting Vietnamese Blood" and the "Central Highlands Red Drops" Voluntary Blood Donation Festival in 2025.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Ba Khanh, Deputy Director of the National Blood Center, member of the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee; Ms. Dang Thi Huong, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; representatives of the Ea Kar District People's Committee; Red Journey volunteers and a large number of officials and people in the district.

2025 is the 12th year that Dak Lak has implemented the Red Journey program with the goal of receiving 2,000 units of blood and mobilizing at least 100 volunteers to participate in educating young generations about thalassemia, its perception and prevention.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Khanh, Deputy Director of the National Blood Center, member of the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Ba Khanh, Deputy Director of the National Blood Center, member of the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee, said that after 12 years of implementation, the Red Journey Program has increasingly received attention from localities and the response of a large number of people, demonstrated through the increasing number of days of organization, the number of participating localities and the number of blood units received each year. Currently, 59 provinces and cities nationwide have participated in the Red Journey, receiving 940,000 units of blood, contributing to saving the lives of many patients.

Many people in Ea Kar district came to register to donate blood on the opening day.

Red Journey has truly become the largest and most effective blood donation campaign, leaving a deep impression in the more than 30-year development of the voluntary blood donation movement in our country.

In 2025, the 13th Red Journey Program will be held in 48 provinces and cities from May 30 to July 30, 2025, expected to receive about 100,000 units of blood; of which 25,000 units will be at the main festival and 75,000 units will be at the blood donation days.
