This is an annual festival of Vietnamese tourism businesses, organized by the Vietnam Tourism Association since 2013, becoming one of the major tourism events of Vietnam tourism.
According to Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, the theme "Developing green destinations - Elevating Vietnam Tourism" at VITM Hanoi 2025 fair aims to focus on developing Vietnam's tourism destinations to achieve the title of green tourism, contributing to enhancing the brand of Vietnam Tourism in terms of ensuring the environment, security, safety and attractiveness for tourists. Activities at the fair contribute to promoting localities and tourism businesses to focus on building green destinations, green tourism products, training labor force with knowledge of green tourism, promoting green to contribute to elevating Vietnam tourism to soon make tourism become a green economic sector of Vietnam. At the fair, some achievements in digital transformation, especially the application of artificial intelligence, the use of robots in the field of tourism and services were also introduced to prepare for the digital transformation movement of Vietnam tourism.
As the venue for the VITM Hanoi 2025 fair, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Hanoi is not only the national political and administrative center but also one of the most important destinations for Vietnamese tourism. The city possesses a rich system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, a unique urban space, sophisticated cuisine and elegant, hospitable people.
As an important transportation hub, especially an international aviation center with Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi is the gateway to welcome and distribute domestic and international tourists, effectively connecting key tourist areas across the country. The city is also the venue for many regional and international cultural and tourism events.
“In its development strategy, Hanoi identifies tourism as a key economic sector; focuses on promoting digital transformation, developing typical tourism products such as cultural tourism, green tourism, creative tourism; at the same time, improving competitiveness and service quality to build Hanoi into a “safe - friendly - quality - attractive” destination. The city is committed to accompanying the business community, international organizations and localities across the country in expanding cooperation, attracting investment, developing sustainable and effective tourism,” Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen emphasized.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that the Fair's theme "Developing green destinations - raising the level of Vietnam's tourism" demonstrated the high determination and great efforts of the Association and Vietnamese tourism businesses in implementing the green transformation strategy, bringing Vietnam's tourism to new heights. Over the past years, the tourism industry has always received attention and close direction from the Party and the State. A series of policies and guidelines have created conditions for the tourism industry to recover and develop, especially Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 of the Prime Minister on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time" has been strongly implemented by the tourism industry nationwide and achieved impressive results.
Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy also highly appreciated the efforts of tourism businesses in overcoming difficulties, developing workforce, expanding markets, building new products, promoting and promoting, which have helped tourism businesses recover and grow strongly. The number of domestic tourists in 2024 has far exceeded that of 2019, the number of international visitors has grown at the leading rate in the region, reaching a record level in 2019. Especially in the first quarter of 2025, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached over 6 million, an increase of 29.6% over the same period, the highest level ever. These results have opened a new development stage of Vietnam Tourism.
VITM 2025 International Tourism Fair has 450 booths, with the participation of over 700 businesses from 54 provinces and cities of Vietnam, 16 countries and territories.
Many activities of the Vietnam Tourism Association of tourism provinces, cities and businesses took place during the 4 days of the fair such as: Introducing attractive programs and tours; many meeting activities between businesses and businesses (Business to Business - B2B); businesses with consumers (Business to Consumer - B2C); Vietnamese and international tourism promotion agencies organized many tourism promotion activities, introduced tourism products, destinations, tourism stimulus packages, new technologies and tourism trends; promoted tourism programs and events of localities, businesses, domestic and international destinations.
