Opening of the Lai Chau Province Ethnic Sports Festival 2025

This morning (September 20), at the Provincial Sports Complex Stadium, the Opening Ceremony of the Lai Chau Province Ethnic Sports Festival 2025 took place. This is an important and practical sports activity to celebrate the success of the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Attending the Opening Ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province; leaders of wards: Tan Phong, Doan Ket; leaders of departments and public service units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; along with all delegations of athletes and a large number of people and supporters in the province.

This year’s competition attracted the participation of 22 delegations with nearly 400 athletes from districts and cities across the province. Athletes competed in 07 sports: Athletics, crossbow shooting, shuttlecock throwing, tu lu, badminton, stick pushing and tug of war.

The Lai Chau Province Ethnic Sports Competition was held to respond to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", associated with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life". Practically welcoming the success of the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

This year, athletes will compete in 07 events that are not only modern sports but also traditional, closely linked to the lives and customs of ethnic minorities.

In his opening speech, the representative of the Organizing Committee emphasized: The competition is an opportunity to encourage and promote the spirit of physical training, improve health, build a healthy lifestyle, thereby strengthening solidarity among ethnic groups, preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity. At the same time, this is also an activity to discover and nurture potential sports talents, contributing to the province's physical training and sports movement in the coming time.

Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, the official competitions started in a vibrant atmosphere, receiving enthusiastic cheers from a large audience.

The contest will take place over 2 days from September 19-20.
