Opening of the Food Festival - Ca Mau Crab Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

On the evening of January 18, the Food Festival - Ca Mau Crab Festival 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, officially opened at the Youth Cultural House, Ho Chi Minh City.

The festival is a special part of the "Hello Ca Mau " program held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City from November 18-22.

With a scale of 100 booths, the space of the Food Festival - Ca Mau Crab Festival is arranged into four main areas: Exhibition area displaying models, images and unique symbols of Ca Mau.

The area for displaying and introducing regional specialties and connecting trade introduces and promotes OCOP products, Ca Mau specialties, and typical products of Ho Chi Minh City and organizes supply-demand connection activities.

Ca Mau's unique culinary processing and introduction area invites famous artisans and chefs from Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh City to perform and introduce crab and seafood dishes, and organize tasting experiences and cooking instructions.

In particular, the cultural and artistic exchange stage area organizes performances associated with Ca Mau culture such as amateur music, folk songs of the river delta, costume shows, and stories about the sea and crab profession, promising to bring new and rich experiences to the people of Ho Chi Minh City as well as domestic and foreign tourists.

Mr. Huynh Chi Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that Ca Mau is the southernmost place of the country, has long been known as an attractive potential, rich in ecological resources, rich in cultural identity, where people are gentle and kind.

In its development journey, Ca Mau always identifies culinary tourism as a key field, closely associated with the image and typical values ​​of the land of forests and sea.

Ca Mau is blessed with a diverse ecosystem, brackish, fresh and salty water sources, and Hon Khoai island district, creating crabs with firm meat, rich flavor, and a unique flavor that cannot be found anywhere else.

In recent years, Ca Mau crabs are not only consumed domestically but also conquered many demanding foreign markets.

"The Ca Mau Crab Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City not only aims to promote typical products, honor the Ca Mau Crab brand, typical specialty products, but also is an opportunity to introduce to friends and visitors near and far the tradition, culture and innovative spirit of Ca Mau.
