Opening of the 6th "Gong Echoes" Festival in Nam Giang District

The 6th Nam Giang Gong Festival in 2024 is held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Nam Giang District Party Committee.

The Gong Echo Festival is a cultural activity organized by Nam Giang district every two years. This year, the festival is organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Nam Giang District Party Committee (June 28, 1949 - June 28, 2024). Leaders of departments, branches, leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Nam Giang district and Ngoc Lac district ( Thanh Hoa province) along with many delegates and people attended the opening ceremony.

According to Mr. A Viet Son - Chairman of Nam Giang District People's Committee, the "Gong Echo" Festival continues to be organized with the aim of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups in Nam Giang District; promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", arousing aspirations, beliefs, national pride, promoting positivity, self-reliance and self-reliance in socio -economic development.

The festival is also expected to introduce to friends across the country and abroad the potential and strengths of Nam Giang's cultural and tourism development in the process of innovation and integration.

The 6th "Gong Echoes" Festival of Nam Giang district was held with the theme "Nam Giang - Sparkling cultural colors" with the participation of 12 groups including 800 artisans and mass actors from 12 communes and towns across the district.

Mr. A Viet Son - Chairman of Nam Giang District People's Committee emphasized that the festival will create a traditional cultural space, where stilt houses display historical and cultural artifacts and typical products of each locality. Also at the exhibition space, there will be musical instrument performances, demonstrations of handmade brocade weaving, traditional sculpture and weaving.

At the opening ceremony, Nam Giang organized the launching of the new logo of the District People's Committee, presented flowers and souvenir flags to participating units. The art program at the opening ceremony also made many impressions on delegates and visitors attending the opening ceremony.

The main activities in the "Echo of Gongs" Festival in Nam Giang district this time include: Traditional Cuisine Competition, display of historical and cultural artifacts, typical products of localities and performances of traditional musical instruments, traditional crafts (weaving, brocade weaving, sculpture).

In addition, commune-level units will compete in performing traditional costumes of ethnic minorities; performing gong and cymbals; performing excerpts of rituals: the land offering ceremony to establish a village of the Co Tu people, the traditional wedding ceremony of the Co Tu people, the new rice celebration ceremony of the Ta Rieng people and the traditional wedding ceremony of the Ve people.

The festival's closing ceremony will be held tomorrow evening, June 26, at the district stadium complex.
