On the morning of August 31, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 3rd Dak Lak Gong Culture Festival in 2024 with the theme "Echoes of the Great Forest".
Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Vu - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs ; H'Yim Kđoh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments and branches, Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee; artisans, actors of participating troupes and a large audience.
Mr. Thai Hong Ha - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Head of the Festival Organizing Committee delivered the opening speech of the Festival.
The festival takes place over 2 days (August 31 and September 1) at KoTam Community Ecotourism Area and Ako Dhong Community Tourism Village (Buon Ma Thuot City). This is a meaningful activity held to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), towards the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22, 1904 - November 22, 2024).
The festival has the participation of about 600 artisans and mass actors from 13 troupes from 13 districts, towns and cities in the province.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh presented souvenir flags to delegations participating in the festival.
The troupes will perform traditional gong pieces in rituals and festivals of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, encouraged to combine with xoang dance; perform traditional musical instruments (solo or ensemble); perform folk songs and dances, in which the accompaniment is encouraged to use traditional musical instruments such as: Ding Nam, Dinh Tut, Dan T'Rung, Goong, Bro..., original or improved; perform and introduce excerpts of festivals, traditional cultural rituals with unique and typical values associated with the Central Highlands Gong Culture.
The performances praise the Party, Uncle Ho and the love for the homeland, the tradition of solidarity, steadfastness and indomitability of the ethnic groups in the struggle against foreign invaders, in production and labor, and in building the current economic, cultural and social life...
Giving gifts to outstanding artists.
The Gong Culture Festival is one of the important contents to implement the objectives of Resolution No. 10/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 17, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council on preserving and promoting the province's gong culture, period 2022 - 2025 and the following years.
Through the Festival, we aim to continue to replicate typical and core models, clubs and gong teams in all localities, contributing to preserving the cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people, successfully implementing the goals of Resolution 5 of the Central Committee (VIII term) "On building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity" and Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee, XI term, on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development".
Ea Sup district artisans participate in the festival.
This is also an opportunity for artisans and mass actors to meet and exchange cultural and artistic activities associated with gong performances, further enhancing the solidarity of ethnic groups; promoting, introducing and publicizing the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Heritage; enhancing awareness, responsibility and pride of those working to protect, preserve and promote the values of national cultural heritage.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee and sponsors gave many gifts to outstanding elderly artisans, young artisans, outstanding female artisans, etc. from the participating delegations.
