Opening of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day 2025 and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week 2025

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc emphasized that this year's festival is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to the Hung Kings but also a bridge between the past and the present, arousing national pride in every Vietnamese person.

The highlight of the program is the art performance "Echoes of the Origin", recreating historical images with legends about Saint Giong and ninety-nine elephants building the Ancestral Land, bringing a heroic and emotional atmosphere.

With thousands of years of history, Phu Tho is considered a cultural museum of the Vietnamese people, possessing a rich system of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, associated with the Hung King era. In particular, the province is proud to have two representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity recognized by UNESCO: Hung King Worship and Phu Tho Xoan Singing.

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty - 2025 will take place from March 29 to April 7 (ie March 1 - 10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, Hung Kings' Square and many other locations in Phu Tho province.

Within the framework of the festival, the ceremony was solemnly held according to tradition with incense and flower offering rituals by delegations and people from all directions.

The festival was bustling with a series of attractive cultural, sports and tourism activities imbued with national identity such as: Art program to open the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land, the Ancestral Land Book Fair, thematic exhibition of documents and artifacts from the Hung King period, cultural camp with booths promoting local products, mass art festival, ancient village Xoan singing performance, banh chung wrapping and cooking contest, banh giay pounding contest, Hung Vuong Cup volleyball tournament, "Returning to the source" marathon...

The Hung Kings' death anniversary is not only an occasion for people across the country to show their respect to their ancestors, but also contributes to promoting Phu Tho culture and history to domestic and foreign tourists, affirming the position of the land of origin of the Vietnamese people.
