“Tell Me You Need Me” and a Story About Depression

On May 17, at Nam Thi House (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), AnBooks Company in collaboration with Vietsuccess organized a meeting to launch the publication Say I Need You, Mom, by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa. The book offers gentle and practical perspectives for readers whose relatives suffer from depression.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa is an expert in the field of psychology in Vietnam, and was the Head of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology, Institute of Psychology (now Institute of Sociology and Psychology) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences . She is currently the Director of the Institute of Psychology and Communication under the Vietnam Psychological Association.

With over 300 pages of content in 2 specific parts, the book brings many practical stories about parents whose children are patients with depression, analyzing and providing solutions for common depressive conditions. In addition, Tell Me I Need You focuses on clarifying the common signs and causes of the disease, helping readers gain more knowledge and easily recognize the mental health status of themselves and their loved ones.

As a therapist, Ms. Mai Thi Viet Thang shared: “The book is for people living with depression and their family members, researchers, therapists, or simply people interested in the field of mental health. People, in different positions, can find scientific information, to be explained, to be comforted, to share, to gain more motivation, to feel more secure in diagnosing, treating, and overcoming depression.
