Opening of the exhibition of propaganda paintings to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly

VHO - On the afternoon of November 14, at the National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc Monument Park, Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province, the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition of large-scale propaganda posters to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) took place.

A large number of delegates and students attended the Opening of the Exhibition.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) emphasized: the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam is an opportunity for the entire Party, people and army to review the history of formation and development, affirming the great achievements that our National Assembly has achieved in the past 80 years. Through language, images and colors of propaganda paintings, the exhibition conveys propaganda content about the meaning of the first General Election; expresses the aspiration for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people; affirms the absolute trust of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the patriotism of our people.

With typical works such as: "Welcoming the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly", "80 years for independence, freedom, happiness", "Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are the main driving forces for socio-economic development"... by authors from all over the country, vividly demonstrated the strength of the great national unity bloc and the aspiration for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people.

At the exhibition, 150 carefully selected large-scale propaganda paintings vividly depict the following themes: historical traditions of the Vietnamese National Assembly ; the spirit of great national unity; the people's mastery; and the country's outstanding achievements under the leadership of the Party, State and National Assembly of Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Mao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province said: The exhibition is a practical and meaningful activity, contributing to widely promoting the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the nation; educating patriotism, national pride and the sense of responsibility of each citizen towards the Fatherland.

The event is an opportunity for people and tourists inside and outside the province to enjoy and admire works of high ideological and artistic value; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the image of people, culture and tourism potential of An Giang province to friends in the region and the whole country.

Rewarding groups and individuals for their achievements in coordinating the Exhibition

On this occasion, the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) awarded Certificates of Merit to 01 collective of the Information, Propaganda and Cinema Department of An Giang Provincial Cultural and Arts Center and 02 individuals who had achievements in the work of coordinating the Exhibition.

Exhibition of large-scale propaganda posters to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam, taking place from November 14 to 29, 2025 to serve the public in the province to come and see the Exhibition.

On the evening of November 19, in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province, the opening ceremony of the National Residential Area Mass Arts Festival will take place. The festival will have the participation of 13 mass art troupes including: Mass Art Troupes of An Giang province, Dong Thap province, Vinh Long province, Dong Nai province, Tay Ninh province, Quang Ninh province, Son La province, Phu Tho province, Can Tho city, Da Nang city, Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi. The award ceremony will take place on the evening of November 19.
