Opening of the Exhibition 'Deserving of the title of Uncle Ho's soldiers'

On the morning of December 20, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with the Vietnam Military History Museum organized the exhibition "Deserving of the name of Uncle Ho's soldiers" with 200 carefully selected photos, documents and typical artifacts, including many rare original artifacts.


The exhibition is held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), under the direction of the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Vu Manh Ha - Party Secretary, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum said that the thematic exhibition introduces to the public the feelings, care, direction and guidance of President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnam People's Army from the early days of its establishment until his passing, while also depicting the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" through 80 years of building, fighting and growing.

Dr. Vu Manh Ha emphasized: “Those noble qualities have been forged through countless difficulties and challenges, inherited and promoted by generations of cadres and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army, and are truly worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's praise: “Our army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism. Every task is completed, every difficulty is overcome, every enemy is defeated.”

The exhibition consists of two parts: President Ho Chi Minh - Beloved Father of the Vietnam People's Army and Worthy of the name Uncle Ho's Soldiers .

Some of the outstanding exhibits on display at the exhibition include the collection of poems Trong Tuyen respectfully presented to Uncle Ho, the letter of determination from officers and soldiers of units 20K and 62K sent to President Ho Chi Minh, the relics of Hero Pham Tuan in the Vietnam-Soviet space flight, the handbags of officers and soldiers in Con Dao presented to President Ho Chi Minh, the badge of Uncle Ho presented to an excellent pilot in 1966 by Major General Mai Van Cuong, the Revolutionary Soldier Newspaper No. 2, February 1927...

The organizers hope to bring to the public an overview of the formation and development process of the Vietnam People's Army, helping viewers understand more deeply the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in combat, study and production.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum also hopes that the exhibition will spread the spirit of patriotism, the tradition of revolutionary struggle, and the noble humanitarian spirit of the Vietnam People's Army to the public, especially the young generation; thereby encouraging the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to continue to unite, strive and contribute in the new era of development of the country - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
