Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung said that currently at the tomb of King Gia Long, a water station system has been installed to limit plastic waste. The space here is fresh, covered with many trees and lakes, very suitable for building a green heritage destination according to the development orientation of Thua Thien - Hue province.

In the journey of building a green tourism route here, the unit has received support and sponsorship from organizations, businesses, and people who participated in donating vehicles and trees to beautify and green the relic area. Hopefully, the green tourism route at King Gia Long's tomb will spread widely, creating a green, environmentally friendly transportation movement throughout Hue city, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung emphasized.

Gia Long Tomb is a destination in the Hue Monuments Complex, recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. The launch of the green tourism route demonstrates the civilization and convenience of this heritage destination; creating highlights and convenience in the sightseeing itinerary, tourism products and services to develop in a green, quality, sustainable and smart direction.

In the initial period, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will invest in nearly 80 environmentally friendly means of transport such as bicycles, electric bicycles, and electric cars to help offset about 32kg of CO2 emissions and 40 trees annually, aiming to fulfill Vietnam's commitment to action at the COP26 conference on reducing emissions, eliminating coal-fired power generation by 2040, and ending deforestation by 2030. The unit will use available on-site human resources, issue different types of tickets to diversify services, and meet the needs of tourists.
