Opening of tram route connecting Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Hanoi Old Quarter

On February 5, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in collaboration with Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company (under the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District) officially opened the Hoan Kiem - Thang Long Imperial Citadel tram route.

At the opening ceremony, Director of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Thanh Quang said that with the message "For a green Hanoi", the electric car route will take visitors to explore the unique cultural features of the capital Hanoi along the route of Hoan Kiem Lake - Hanoi Old Quarter and the World Heritage site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Using friendly means of transport to exploit Hanoi's tourist route connecting the Citadel - the living and working place of the king, the royal family and the royal court and the city - the place responsible for guarding the East of the Citadel and providing essential daily necessities and food for the royal family and the royal court will bring a new and safe experience to visitors.

According to Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Pham Tuan Long, the new electric car tourist route approved by the city has 20 cars operating, with a route of 10km, moving through 24 streets to: Introduce to tourists cultural works, historical sites, scenic spots associated with the formation and development of Thang Long - Hanoi with thousands of years of civilization such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Old Quarter, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

According to the plan, the new tram route connecting Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Hanoi Old Quarter will have the following route: Dinh Tien Hoang (starting point - Bo Ho Tram Station) - Hang Dao - Hang Ngang - Hang Buom - Ma May - Hang Bac - Hang Ngang - Hang Duong - Dong Xuan - Hang Giay - Quan Thanh - Nguyen Bieu - Thang Long Imperial Citadel (ending point), with a ticket price of 245,000 VND/car/7 passengers.

Return: Thang Long Imperial Citadel (starting point - Gate No. 9 Hoang Dieu Street) - Hoang Dieu - Hoang Van Thu - Hung Vuong - Phan Dinh Phung - Hang Cot - Hang Luoc - Hang Ma - Hang Chieu - Dao Duy Tu - Ma May - Hang Bac - Hang Bo - Luong Van Can - Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang (final point), with ticket price 245,000 VND/car/7 passengers.

On the occasion of the opening, the Organizing Committee launched a free promotion program for the trip from Hoan Kiem Lake to Thang Long Imperial Citadel, with 10 vehicles operating continuously throughout the day, until February 9, 2024.

In particular, on the occasion of the new spring, for the first time, Thang Long Imperial Citadel inaugurated and put into use an automatic guide system (auto guide)./.
