Medical examination, health consultation, free medicine for 250 elderly people in Thai Nien commune (Bao Thang)

On April 10, the Red Cross Society and the Association of the Elderly of Bao Thang district coordinated with the Medical Center and the District General Hospital to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine to 250 elderly people and ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances in Mom Dao village, Thai Nien commune.

At the program, the elderly receive general health check-ups by doctors to detect early diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, eye diseases and receive advice on regular health check-ups.

At the same time, doctors and nurses also provide consultation and healtheducation , instruct people on disease prevention, personal hygiene, nutrition, food safety, combined with general examination, blood pressure measurement and medication for common chronic diseases in the elderly... The total value of the examination and medication is nearly 30 million VND.

This is a practical activity demonstrating the concern and care of the Red Cross, the Elderly Association and agencies and units for the health of the elderly, as well as people in difficult circumstances in the area. Thereby, it not only helps people detect diseases early, reduce medical burden, but also spreads the spirit of humanity and sharing in the community.

Giving gifts to some policy families.

On this occasion, the Red Cross Society and the District Elderly Association presented 10 gifts to a number of policy families in Thai Nien commune; each gift worth 500,000 VND from the district's Humanitarian Fund.
