On November 13, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province announced that it had just approved the general planning project of Dam Thi Tuong Eco -tourism Area at a scale of 1/10,000.
The research area for the master plan of Dam Thi Tuong Eco-tourism Area is located in 4 communes: Song Doc, Tran Van Thoi, Hung My and Phu My. The master plan area is 1,985 hectares.
Thereby, in order to exploit tourism products with the characteristics of the Southern river region on the basis of conserving biodiversity, ecosystems, restoring aquatic resources, etc. At the same time, combined with improving living conditions for people, creating environmental landscapes, tourism spaces, developing eco-tourism in a harmonious and sustainable direction.
Thi Tuong Lagoon is a natural lagoon with an area of about 700 hectares and is known as "a lake in the heart of the delta".
Households living around the lagoon area said that this place is blessed with many aquatic and marine species of high economic value. However, in recent years, aquatic and marine resources have decreased significantly due to many objective and subjective reasons.
"Therefore, when the Dam Thi Tuong Eco-tourism Area planning is implemented, it will not only help increase the income of people living along the "lake sea" but also contribute to regenerating aquatic resources... We are very excited to hear about the above policy" - Mr. Bui Van Thang (residing in Hung My commune, Ca Mau province) shared.
